The Aqaba Bird Observatory (ABO), set in a wetland alongside Aqaba's sewage-safe treated-water pools, is one of the finest birdwatching in Jordan sites. Its reed beds, shallow lagoons and adjoining saltmarsh host huge wintering and passage waterbird flocks.
