Al-Habis is the rocky hill behind the Petra Museum, crowned with Crusader-era fortifications and reached by a short steep path. Its ledges give some of the finest views over the Great Temple and valley.
It is a good half-hour detour. Travellers who hire car & driver in Jordan combine it with the museum, and full package tours to Jordan include it when time allows.
